Another gas poisoning incident has occurred in Hangzhou. Toxic gas alarms must be installed!
2025-06-04

Zhejiang Online, December 5 (Reporter Zhang Miao of Qianjiang Evening News) This accident is really sad. In the two emergency rooms of Run Run Shaw Xiasha Campus and the Airport Road Campus of 117 Hospital, at around 9 a.m., two men and one female, three patients were being rescued by medical staff due to carbon monoxide poisoning. But no matter how hard the cardiopulmonary resuscitation is, they can't replace their heartbeat.

Among these three people, 26-year-old Xiao Zhang and his 23-year-old wife, the older one is Xiao Zhang's 58-year-old uncle.

The three people fell into the kitchen of their newly opened "Shengzhou Snacks", and the water that had just boiled on the pot was still gulping. They died just before they could sell their first breakfast. In the latest official notice, their cause of death was suspected of carbon monoxide poisoning.

This Shengzhou snack bar is on the street store in Jiubao Tianyang Jiuzhu. Xiao Zhang just rented it on November 21 this year. Xiao Zhang plans to make his "special product" in his hometown here - to open a Shengzhou snack bar all over Hangzhou.

From the day I rented it to the day before the accident, Xiao Zhang and his wife kept watching the renovation every day.

"The couple are quite easy to talk to." said Lao Dai, the owner of a flower shop on the street. "On the first day of opening today, you see, there are two flower baskets at the door, which just arrived in the morning."

The flower basket said "Good luck in business" and there was a warning line around it.

The first person to discover the accident was the residents who came here for breakfast in the morning.

If nothing happened, he would be the first customer of the newly opened store. When the diner walked into the snack bar, there seemed to be no one in the room. He leaned into the kitchen and saw his feet standing on the ground, steaming in the room. The diner quickly ran out shouting, and Lao Dai and the nearby residents surrounded him, "I found something wrong, we only dare to watch from a distance and not walk in."

There is a dining table outside the snack bar, a kitchen inside, separated by a glass wall and an opaque door curtain in the middle.

"I saw a man lying down, his feet motionless." Mr. Jiang, a resident who was attracted by the shouts, said, "Later, 120 and 110 came, and three people were lifted out of it."

Mr. Jiang said that such snack bars usually start to be busy at four or five o'clock in the morning, and they have to prepare for kneading and boiling water early, and they don't know when they fell down.

"There should have been a small long bun and tofu bun at the door of the store, but there was nothing at the door, which means that something happened not long after they were busy." Mr. Jiang said. Three people fell down in the small kitchen room. It was sad to think about it. "It is very likely that the kitchen is not airtight, and it is too late to think about it."

After the police arrived at the scene, they immediately closed the three gas cylinders that were open, and the three were taken to two hospitals respectively. A doctor from Xiasha Branch of Run Run Shaw Hospital told Qianjiang Evening News that the patient had no heartbeat and breathing when he was sent. Even though they had CPR for more than an hour, the miracle still did not happen.

At around 11 o'clock in the afternoon, Xiao Zhang's mother and aunt also rushed to the hospital. One of them lost her husband and the other lost her son and daughter-in-law. The two cried heartbrokenly, and they couldn't sit on the chair and collapsed in the corner.

5 situations are prone to gas poisoning

Gas poisoning refers to carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless. It often invades the respiratory tract during sleep, exchanges gas from the alveoli, enters the blood and spreads throughout the body, causing poisoning. In daily life, gas poisoning mainly occurs in the following situations:

1. Use a coal stove to heat, cook or grill with a charcoal stove in a closed room, while the doors and windows are closed, there is no ventilation measure, and the air bucket is not installed or the installation is incorrect.

2. The installation of the bungalow chimney is unreasonable. The cylinder port is opposite the air outlet or in low-pressure weather such as wind, cloudy days, snow, etc., the gas accumulated indoors cannot be discharged in time.

3. The gas pipeline used by residents leaks, the switch is not tight, or the flame is extinguished during cooking, and the gas overflows in large quantities.

4. The gas water heater is poorly ventilated and the bathing time is too long.

5. Starting a car in the garage or turning on the air conditioner in the car in winter may also cause gas poisoning.

Xhosa Electronics reminds you:

The weather is getting colder and colder. In order to prevent cold, many restaurants have to install cotton curtains. Once gas leaks or coal burns in such a confined space, it will cause irreversible accidents. A hotel that integrates small restaurants and kitchens and restaurants must install carbon monoxide detection alarms (toxic gas detection alarms) to avoid unnecessary damage as much as possible.
